Lisa McWilliams' Mobile Film School

The Austin-based Mobile Film School, founded by Lisa McWilliams, launched its pilot program in partnership with the Manor Independent School District during late February. While others took the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test, seven Manor students participated in the weeklong, total-immersion filmmaking workshop breakfasting together at 7am and finishing up at 9pm each night.

Saturday the Mobile Film School hosted the first-ever Bowl-A-Rama fundraiser to benefit Central Texas youth. In addition to bowling, participants enjoyed two free concerts and access to a silent auction. The program's founder said she's excited about the community's response.

Six Central Texas high school students where chosen from nearly 55 entries submitted by selected school media arts instructors.

Local students to present documentary, 'What Dr. Phil Got Wrong'

A short documentary filmed and produced by students at Elgin High School will be shown to the public at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 28. Elginites are invited to attend the free screening which will take place at the Elgin ISD Administration Building's auditorium, 1002 N. Ave. C.
